'Mori no Raireki: Nijirin to Genseirin ga Orinasu Gekidou no Monogatari' is a recently published book written by Professor Emeritus of Gifu University, Dr. KOMIYAMA Akira and Associate Professor KATO Shogo of the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences.

The book 'Mori no Raireki: Nijirin to Genseirin ga Orinasu Gekidou no Monogatari' (literally, a historical trail of forests: power dynamics generated by secondary and primary forests) chronicles the journey of GU students and the faculty members as we had delved into understanding the origins of forests. We hope that, rather than relying solely on textbook knowledge, the book will encourage readers to have similar experiences of exploring field science through observing and investigating forests on-site. This pseudo-experience will enable readers to discover avenues to enhance their own curiosity and questions, which will ultimately lead up to launching research of their own choice.

We wish that not only university students but also high school students aspiring to attend university will find the book informative and inspiring.
