Partnership Agreement with Tarui Town

Gifu University (GU) concluded a partnership agreement with Tarui Town, Gifu Prefecture on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

GU and Tarui Town have been forging a close tie for years through such activities as GU's sending academic staff to the town to give lectures on architecture and education to government officials and teachers at elementary and junior high schools.

Under the new partnership, GU and Tarui Town will work together in diverse fields and deepen the relationship in a sustainable and comprehensive manner for the development of human resources equipped with strong leadership skills to create a vibrant community in the future.

Tarui Town is the 34th municipal government that GU has entered into a partnership agreement with.

In a signing ceremony, Mayor HAYANO Hirofumi of Tarui Town made the following statement: "Through close collaboration with GU, we can expect professional views from academia and new ideas from the students to address socioeconomic issues such as depopulation and promotion of digitalization."

In response, GU President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro said, "Gifu University is aiming to become the nation's best academic hub for the community. First, I would like to ask Tarui Town, with its many thriving manufacturing businesses, to accept our students as interns and offer them the opportunity to learn about businesses firsthand. That way, GU and Tarui Town can continue to help the youth settle down in the community, and a community full of young people will result in strong growth in the future."

GU and Tarui Town will work together for community revitalization by building a robust partnership and tackling multiple issues in the days to come.
