Gifu University Business Venture Certification Ceremony

On Wednesday, June 28, 2023, Gifu University held the "Gifu University Business Venture Certification Ceremony" for GIFU EXOSOME Co., LTD. to certify the firm as the business venture born out of Gifu University.

Gifu University certifies business ventures born out of the research achievements made at the University and provides smooth and effective support for these new business ventures.

GIFU EXOSOME works on the measurement of exosomes and extracellular vesicles (EVs). Exosomes/extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nano vesicles that are secreted from cells and act on other cells. They contain a variety of factors inside and on their surface, which can be quantified by using them as markers. However, for many species, markers have not been identified, making the measurement of exosome EVs difficult. GIFU EXOSOME can measure exosomes and EVs even for species with unidentified markers (quoted from the company website). The company aims to establish an official standard for this technology in the near future.

On behalf of the company, Dr. TAKEMORI Hiroshi, CTO of GIFU EXOSOME (Professor of the Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Science Course, the Faculty of Engineering, Gifu University) attended the ceremony and was handed the certificate from President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro of Gifu University.

After the ceremony, President Yoshida and Professor Takemori held the meeting. President Yoshida expressed his strong wish for GIFU EXOSOME to join the endeavor to build a major life science hub by working with local enterprises.

A total of nine business ventures born out of Gifu University are committing to returning their research achievements to local communities for their further prosperity in the future.
