Kickoff of Low-Temperature Plasma Sciences

Tokai National Higher Education and Research System has established a new research base for low-temperature plasma whose wider use is highly anticipated in many fields such as manufacturing of semi-conductors in the future.

Operations of the Low-Temperature Plasma Sciences started in April 2023 as a comprehensive science and research base that integrates diverse fields of science and research. It is an assembly place of achievements stemming from collaboration between Gifu University and community, and world's best academic assets developed and possessed by Nagoya University for the past 50 years.

Its fields of research cover R & D of semi-conductors, medicine, agriculture, chemistry, energy, electricity, space, information, civil engineering, environment and materials, and its activities are encompassing from basic research to application to society.

The Low-Temperature Plasma Sciences can be accessible not only by the members of Gifu and Nagoya universities, but also people from different universities, research institutes, the private sector both at home and abroad in hopes that it can become a center where "any questions are answered, and any problems are resolved as far as low-temperature plasma is concerned."
