Mr. AKAMATSU Ryoichi won the "107th Japan National Championships"

Mr. AKAMATSU Ryoichi who graduated from the Graduate School of Education, Gifu University in 2020 renewed his record (229 cm) in male high jump and won the "107th Japan National Championships" held in Osaka from Thursday, June 1 to Sunday June 4, 2023.

On Friday, June 9, Mr. Akamatsu and Assistant Professor HAYASHI Ryohei (special trainer for Mr. Akamatsu and a manager of the Truck & Field Club at GU) visited the Office of the President and reported the win to President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro.

"I am so happy that I renewed my own record and won the championships after many days of hard training. I am determined to renew my record again in the international competition this summer, which is a big step forward to the 2024 Paris Olympics," said Mr. Akamatsu. President Yoshida congratulated him on the renewal of his record and his winning the championships. He also wished him every success in the future competitions and the 2024 Paris Olympics with strong support from Assistant Professor Hayashi.
