Gifu University is awarded "Tokai Information Communication Conference President Prize"

The Tokai Bureau of Telecommunications, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, and the Tokai Information Communication Conference hosted the "Day of Electric Wave and Information and Communications Month 20231" at the hotel in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Gifu University was awarded the "Tokai Information Communication Conference President Prize."

Individuals and organizations who have been making significant contributions to the effective use of electric waves and the development of information and communication technologies are selected and honored at the ceremony. The Medical Education Development Center (MEDC) of Gifu University received the prize for its utilization of the fifth generation mobile communication system (5G) for the classes where medical students can view operation processes being accompanied by the subtitles on the screen detailing the processes. Through 5G, students are able to take part in the remote-learning classes and access the clear images of operations in real time. MEDC was acknowledged for its contribution to the enhancement of medical education and advancement of medicine by using 5G technology. On behalf of Gifu University, Professor SAIKI Takuya, Director of MEDC attended the ceremony and received the certificate.

Gifu University continues to strive for the enhancement of education and progress in research activities by utilizing electric wave, information and communication technology and giving back to a community.
