On Friday, January 14, 2022, Gifu Prefectural Council of Social Welfare donated 35 boxes of retort cooked rice (about 3,000 cooked rice) to Gifu University.

The Gifu Prefectural Council of Social Welfare contacted Gifu University concerning rice donation because the university serves as a secretariat of "Gifu Regional Council for the Promotion of International Exchange." Gifu University distributed the donated rice to the member universities of the Regional Council in accordance with the number of their international students.

In the midst of continuing COVID-19 pandemic, many international students are not able to find part time work and having financial hardships. Donation of cooked rice by the Gifu Prefectural Council of Social Welfare was deeply appreciated by these students and they expressed their deep gratitude to the members of the Council.

Gifu University would also like to extend our deep appreciation to the kind support from the Gifu Prefectural Council of Social Welfare for international students.
