Gifu University was presented the Award of Excellence at Eco-Unit Division of "eco-MASTER GRAND PRIX 2019" at the awarding ceremony held at the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry on December 22, 2019.

The Certification Test for Environmental Specialists (Eco Test) is organized and conducted by the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry to evaluate people's knowledge about environmental issues. Those who have passed the test are considered to have basic knowledge about how to deal with complex, diverse environmental issues in an extensive and systemic way. The Eco Test in this sense, is instrumental in helping people build their business careers and lead a healthy and safe life in society.

The major purpose of the eco-MASTER GRAND PRIX is to promote conservation activities by honoring those who have passed the test (called "eco people") and activities of the Eco-Unit*. Gifu University was presented the Award of Excellence for 1) "Green Campus Initiative" to implement sustainable education and research programs 2) training for internal environmental audits and students' active participation, and 3) opening of environmental (intensive) lectures.

We will continue to carry out our own unique conservation activities and projects in the years to come.

*Eco-Unit: more than two "eco people" recruit environment activists, who are registered as "eco-unit" with business entities, organizations or circles, and they communicate their activities to the public.
