Mr. Shunya Chosokabe (4th year student, Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Science, Faculty of Engineering) and his supervisor visited the Office of President on June 24, 2019 to report his winning at Tongali Business Contest 2019 to President Hisataka Moriwaki.

The target participants of the contest are undergraduate, graduate students and postdoctoral researchers of universities in the Tokai Region (Aichi, Gifu and Mie prefectures) and Osaka University. They compete with one another for their start-up business strategies based on technology of the future and ideals.

Mr. Chosokabe ranked third at the contest, but was presented with a number of additional awards from co-organizers of the contest. They are: "Daiwa Securities Award" from Daiwa Securities Co., Ltd., "UTEC Award" from the University of Tokyo Edge Capital, "Nagono Campus Award" from Towa Real Estate Co., Ltd., "Mitsui Bussan Award" from Mitsui & Co., Ltd., and "Overseas Challenge Award" from Aichi Prefecture. With all these awards, Mr. Chosokabe's team won the largest number of prizes in 10 teams.

"I would like to study the real needs of people in Malaysia for future commercialization of my ideas," said Mr. Chosokabe in his meeting with the president. President Moriwaki praised his great achievement and said, "I am looking forward to hearing from your future accomplishment soon."
