A Spring Flower Festival was held at the Gifu Field Science Center of the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences on April 24, 2019.

In this annual festival, flowers and vegetable seedlings cultivated at the center are sold at discount price to the university staff and citizens. Salvia, marigold flowers, seedlings of summer vegetables (eggplants, tomatoes, cucumbers and pumpkins, etc.) were sold.

Despite the bad weather, people formed a long line waiting for the opening. Explanations from the staff helped people to choose flowers and vegetables of their liking, and some of them were sold out soon. Gifu University's brand green plant named, "Fairy Wing," honey made from flowers grown on campus, and bamboo shoots harvested at the university's Minokamo Farm were also for sale.

The festival was a huge success with approximately 280 people coming from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
