President Moriwaki presented with Gifu University sake
Gifu Univresity sake, "Tabou no haru Gizan" and "Tabou no haru Kyokufu" arrived at Gifu University Co-op on April 17, 2019. Co-op Director presented newly arrived sake bottles to President Hisataka Moriwaki to celebrate the completion of sake and a start of sale.
The Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences started the sake development project in 2013 and it took five years before its completion. Gifu University students did everything from rice (quality hidahomare rice) planting and harvesting, use of Gifu University underground water, to fermentation with yeast, etc. It was brewed at a sake storehouse in Gifu, making the brand purely produced within Gifu and by the people in Gifu.
"Gizan" tastes sweet-sour like white wine and "Kyokufu" is dry sake.
Gifu University sake bottles are sold at Gifu University Co-op central store.
