On April 14, 2017, Joint Entrance Ceremony for the United Graduate School of Agricultural Science (UGSAS) and the United Graduate School of Veterinary Sciences (UGSVS) for Spring 2017 was held at the university auditorium. The number of students enrolled was; 11 for UGSAS and 24 for UGSVS.

In his congratulatory address, President Hisataka Moriwaki said, "We hope you enjoy and utilize Gifu University, whether as a graduate student who has a clear vision for his/her future as a highly advanced professional, or as a graduate student aspiring to become a researcher while firmly holding on to his/her dreams."

In the ceremony, on behalf of newly-enrolled students, Mr. Hiroyuki Hattori of UGSAS expressed his resolve of studying at Gifu University.
