On February 20, 2017, "The 8th Joint Symposium of Veterinary Research among Universities of Veterinary Medicine in East Asia" was held at National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan.
The following are the universities attended:
-United Graduate School of Veterinary Sciences, Gifu University (consisting of Gifu University, Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Equine Research Institute (JRA) and National Institute of Infectious Diseases)
-United Graduate School of Veterinary Science, Yamaguchi University (consisting of Tottori University, Yamaguchi University and Kagoshima University)
-The University of Tokyo, and
-Azabu University

In the symposium, research presentations in veterinary sciences were made during a Keynote Lecture, and students reported research activities in a Session. All participants actively engaged in information sharing and opinion exchange. Eight students of the United Graduate School of Veterinary Sciences of Gifu University did presentations about their studies.
The 8th symposium was a great success offering a venue for training to young researchers and research exchange in veterinary sciences with a focus on the Asian region.
