Certification Ceremony for "Professor of Industry-Academia Collaboration" and "Distinguished Laboratory of Industry-Academia Collaboration"

On June 18, 2026, a ceremony was held in the Office of the President Office to confer certificates for the titles of "Professor of Industry-Academia Collaboration" and "Associate Professor of Industry-Academia Collaboration," as well as to present certification for "Distinguished Laboratory of Industry-Academia Collaboration." This system grants titles to faculty members who have secured a certain level of external funding through activities such as joint research, commissioned research, and commissioned projects with private companies and other organizations, and who have made outstanding contributions to the promotion of industry-academia collaboration for Gifu University. Also, laboratories with similarly strong achievements are designated as "Distinguished Laboratory of Industry-Academia Collaboration," with the aim of further supporting their research activities.

On June 18, based on achievements over the three-year period from FY2022 to FY2024, certificates and designations were awarded to faculty members and laboratories that newly met the criteria.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor HAYASHI Masahiro (Institute for Glyco-core Research) was awarded the title of "Professor of Industry-Academia Collaboration," and Assistant Professor KUMABE Kazuhiro (Faculty of Engineering) was awarded the title of "Associate Professor of Industry-Academia Collaboration." In addition, the laboratories of Professor YOSHIDA Yoshinori (Faculty of Engineering) and Associate Professor IRISAWA Toshihira (Faculty of Engineering) were certified as "Distinguished Laboratory of Industry-Academia Collaboration."

All of these faculty members are actively promoting collaboration with companies and local communities in their respective fields of expertise, making significant contributions to the social implementation of research outcomes and the creation of new values. Industry-academia-government collaboration is an extremely important initiative for Gifu University as it strives to fulfill its role as a university that develops together with the region. Gifu University places great importance not only on advancing academic research but also on sharing results with local communities and industry and returning benefits to society. It is hoped that this ceremony will serve as an opportunity to further expand industry-academia collaboration efforts and enhance the university's contributions to society through its education and research activities.
