Visit to Gifu University by Director General SENZAKI Takuho of the Minister's Secretariat of MEXT
On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, Director General SENZAKI Takuho of the Minister's Secretariat (in charge of Higher Education) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), along with a delegation, visited Gifu University and toured the university's educational and research facilities.
During the visit, the delegation toured the University Hospital, the Intelligent Production Technology Research & Development Center for Aerospace, Ammonia and Hydrogen Zero-Carbon Energy Demonstration Hub, the Center for Advanced Smart Die Engineering Technology, and the Institute for Glyco-core Research. At each site, the university provided explanations of its distinctive initiatives in medical care, research, industry-academia collaboration, and advanced efforts toward realizing a carbon neutral society.
At each facility, there were presentations on research and technology development activities, initiatives for social implementation, and collaborative efforts with local communities and industry. In addition, participants engaged in discussions on the future direction of higher education and research.
As a member of the Tokai National Higher Education and Research System, Gifu University aims to serve as a "core hub for regional revitalization." It promotes integrated education, research, and social contribution activities in fields such as healthcare, manufacturing, environmental energy, and life sciences. The university will continue to fulfill its role as an institution that develops together with the local community while responding to national higher education policies.
