The 74th Commencement Ceremony for AY 2025
On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the 74th Commencement Ceremony for AY 2025 was held at the Gishin Forum, Gifu City. This year, a total of 1,260 undergraduate students and 606 graduate students marked the completion of their studies.
At the ceremony, President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro delivered a congratulatory address, during which he quoted the words of MORI Shinzo, a philosopher and educator from Aichi Prefecture: "Education does not lie in producing prematurely perfected 'small, finished products,' but rather in thoughtfully nurturing 'unfinished individuals' endowed with the capacity for continued growth throughout their lives." Through this message, he emphasized to the graduates the importance of maintaining a lifelong attitude of learning.
Representing the graduate students, Mr. UMEMURA Yuta of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Science delivered a message of appreciation, stating that the expertise gained through graduate research, the perseverance developed in tackling challenges, and the daily experiences of learning alongside peers from diverse fields and backgrounds would remain invaluable assets throughout his life.
In addition, representing the undergraduate students, Ms. WATANABE Keina of the School of Social System Management expressed her determination, saying that in an era undergoing major transformation, she hopes to contribute to building a better society by making use of the "ability to keep questioning" and the "ability to connect" that she cultivated at Gifu University.
Awards were also presented to graduates and degree recipients who demonstrated outstanding academic achievement during their studies.
The ceremony was livestreamed on the University's official YouTube channel. Videos of the President's address and scenes from the ceremony can be viewed via the related links below.
