Gifu University Formula Racing Team Achieves 6th Place Overall at Formula SAE Japan 2025

Gifu University Formula Racing (GFR) competed in the ICV (gasoline engine) class at the Formula SAE Japan 2025 held in September at Aichi Sky Expo (Aichi Prefecture), earning an impressive 6th place for the third consecutive year among top-ranking teams. In addition, GFR received the Best Vehicle Inspection Award, given to the team with the fewest inspection issues, and the Japan Auto Parts Industries Association Chairman's Award, presented to teams with outstanding performance in presentation, vehicle weight, and manufacturing cost. Out of 64 teams from Japan and abroad, GFR continued to demonstrate high-level, stable performance following its 3rd place finish in 2023 and 5th place in 2024.

Following this achievement, on Thursday, November 6, the team reported their success to President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro. Representing GFR, Mr. MIYAZAKI Ryota, a fourth-year student in the Faculty of Engineering, stated: "Recently, more overseas teams have been participating, raising the overall level of competition. We are proud to maintain strong results under these circumstances. Next year, we aim for an even higher ranking and hope to contribute to enhancing Gifu's reputation for manufacturing excellence." President Yoshida commented:"In student formula racing, where students handle everything from securing sponsors to building the vehicle, maintaining such strong results year after year is an invaluable asset for your future. Please continue striving for higher levels without being satisfied with the current situation."
