The 3rd Gifu University Homecoming Day is Held
On Saturday, November 1, 2025, the 3rd Gifu University Homecoming Day was organized by the Gifu University Koyukai Meeting1 on campus. This event is designed for all stakeholders connected to Gifu University, aiming to deepen mutual exchange and collaboration, build sustainable relationships, and promote mutual support. This year marked the third time it has been held. In the morning, university-wide programs were offered, while in the afternoon, each faculty hosted its own activities.
In the morning session, 208 people attended the event at the University Auditorium, and more than 100 viewers joined via simultaneous streaming on YouTube.
The event began with a report on the university's recent developments by President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro, followed by the presentation of letters of appreciation to individuals outside the university who contributed to the advancement of education and research. Additionally, three alumni were honored with the Gifu University Alumni Association President's Award: Mr. YASUFUKU Yoshinori (School of Medicine), Mr. KAMEI Masaharu (Graduate School of Agricultural Science), and Mr. AKAMATSU Ryoichi (Graduate School of Education).
Afterward, the three awardees delivered special lectures.
Mr. Yasufuku presented "From Forty Years at a Mountain Clinic - Returning Here," sharing diverse episodes from his work at the Horado Clinic (Seki City, Gifu Prefecture) and offering insights on how everything--objects and people alike--exists within a background and interconnected flow.
Mr. Kamei spoke on "Creating Solutions for Insect Control - Developing Pesticides Using Insect Bioactive Substances," introducing his research and products he helped develop, while also discussing expectations for students and the mindset of engineers.
Mr. Akamatsu gave a speech on "Research and Practice for Improving Athletic Performance," presenting his current training and research efforts along with future prospects. Attendees listened attentively to these valuable talks by experts active in their respective fields.
In the afternoon session, a variety of programs organized by each faculty were held, including symposia, public lectures, lab tours, panel exhibitions, and networking events. A total of 356 participants attended, making it a meaningful opportunity for alumni, current students, faculty, and staff to strengthen their connections.
The Gifu University Koyukai Meeting will continue its activities to further enhance collaboration with all stakeholders of Gifu University.
1) An on-campus administrative support organization established on October 1, 2022. Its members include alumni, current students, members of the Parents' Association, faculty, and staff, and its purpose is to share information about Gifu University with these stakeholders, deepen mutual exchange and collaboration among them, and support the university's initiatives together with them.
