Meeting to Promote Collaboration with Gifu Prefecture
On Thursday, September 4, 2025, a meeting to promote collaboration between Gifu Prefecture and Gifu University was held on campus. The meeting started in 2009, and the 16th meeting of this time featured an exchange of opinions between Governor ESAKI Yoshihide of Gifu Prefecture and President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro of Gifu University on topics such as frailty prevention, cross-grade collaborative learning, and the "Gifu Prefecture Marutto Campus" initiative.
During the meeting, various case studies were presented, highlighting multifaceted approaches to solving regional issues, as well as efforts to extend healthy life expectancy and enhance educational outcomes through industry-academia-government collaboration. Lively discussions were held regarding future prospects for strengthening the partnership between the prefecture and the university.
After the meeting, a tour of university facilities was conducted, showcasing Gifu University's latest research initiatives at the OKB Gifu University Plaza, the Institute for Glyco-core Research (iGCORE), the Center for Advanced Smart Die Engineering Technology (G-CADET), and the Intelligent Production Technology Research & Development Center for Aerospace (IPTeCA).
Gifu University will continue to strengthen its collaboration with local governments and remain committed to contributing to the region.
