Gifu University Signs MoU with Gifu Prefectural Government on Collaborative Initiatives for Youth Life Design and Career Development

On Friday, June 13, 2025, Gifu University and the Gifu Prefectural government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concerning collaborative initiatives for youth life design and career development.

This MoU builds upon the "Agreement on Collaboration between Gifu Prefectural Government and Gifu University" signed on March 28, 2008, and aims to further promote education related to life design and career formation for young people through joint efforts between the university and the prefectural government.

As part of this initiative, Gifu University will incorporate the following themes into its 2025 Zenkyo general education course "Designing Your Own Career I":

1. Preconception care

2. Work-life balance

3. Family management and family life

The university will conduct classes on these topics and compile the results of these educational activities. Additionally, video teaching materials will be developed for themes (1) and (2), and lectures utilizing these materials will be planned and supervised.

During the signing ceremony, President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro of Gifu University and Gifu Prefectural Governor ESAKI Yoshihide signed the MoU. President Yoshida remarked, "As a core university in the region, promoting career education is of utmost importance for nurturing human resources. Through this MoU, we aim to collaborate with the Gifu Prefectural government in developing and piloting educational programs, creating video materials, and expanding these programs to other universities and local companies. We are committed to fostering individuals who can thrive both locally and globally through career development and life design programs."

Governor Esaki stated, "In a 100-year life, it is essential to think deeply about how to live and what values to pursue. This MoU represents a meaningful initiative to provide valuable information to young people. By partnering with Gifu University, we hope to make Gifu Prefecture a place where people and resources gather - not only from within Japan but from around the world - so that everyone can lead fulfilling lives."

Gifu University will continue to advance education in life design and career development for young people and strive to cultivate their active citizenship.
