On Saturday, November 9, 2024, with the support of Anpachi Town, Gifu Prefecture, Gifu University set up a booth at the "Anpachi Fureai Festival 2024." Gifu University and Anpachi Town concluded a comprehensive partnership in October 2023.
The festival, organized by the Anpachi Town Fureai Festival Executive Committee, is held annually around the Anpachi Town Hall area with the aim of creating a vibrant community by providing a place for residents to interact and mingle with. This year, the festival was positioned as part of the "Seiryu no Kuni Gifu" Cultural Festival 20241. Local businesses, organizations, and companies also set up booths, and stage shows by celebrities and performances by children attracted a large audience.
At Gifu University booth, posters introducing the initiatives of the Center for Collaborative Study with Community (CCSC)2 were on display. Materials such as university brochures, handout about "Next-Generation Regional Leader Fostering Program" of CCSC, and "Chiikishikougaku (region-centered) Study Vol.8" issued by CCSC were distributed to visitors. A paper craft experience corner where visitors could make polyhedrons by assembling strips of paper, and a corner for making personalized fans and Christmas ornaments were well received by many visitors. During the craft activities, Gifu University students who had completed the "Next-Generation Regional Leader Fostering Program" communicated with visitors and supported them in their crafts, providing an opportunity for direct interaction between students and the residents.
More than 70 people visited Gifu University booth, deepening their understanding of the university and the activities of CCSC. Visitors shared feedback such as "I felt closer to Gifu University" and "It was great to learn about the various initiatives of the university."
Moving forward, CCSC will continue to strengthen its collaboration with local governments within Gifu Prefecture, actively promoting the setting up of university booths and community-based outreach activities.
