Gifu University Signed a 'Letter of Intent' with Samarkand State Medical University in Uzbekistan.
From Friday, July 19 to Monday, July 22, 2024, President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro and other members from Gifu University visited Samarkand State Medical University in Uzbekistan and signed a 'Letter of Intent' to strengthen friendly relations between the two universities.
In September 2023, Rector Rizayev Jasur Alimdjanovich of Samarkand State Medical University visited Japan. During his stay, he discussed future partnerships in the field of medicine with President Yoshida. This meeting paved the way for President Yoshida and a delegation from Gifu University to visit Uzbekistan in July.
After signing the Letter of Intent at Samarkand State Medical University, President Yoshida and Rector Rizayev discussed launching academic research and student exchange programs. These initiatives include interactions between doctors and researchers from both universities, as well as short-term study abroad opportunities for students.
Gifu University will continue to deepen its collaboration with Samarkand State Medical University and accelerate active exchanges in the coming days.
