Delegation from the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology, National University of Timor-Leste Pays a Courtesy Visit to President Yoshida

On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, seven faculty members from the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology, National University of Timor-Leste, which is in an inter-faculty collaboration with our Faculty of Engineering, paid a courtesy visit to President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro.

As part of a project facilitated by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the delegation stayed at Gifu University from Sunday, June 4 to Thursday, July 11, 2024. During their stay, they engaged in an exchange of research and educational insights and discuss potential future collaborations between the two faculties.

During the courtesy visit, Professor Victor Soares, former Minister of Petroleum and Mineral, along with Professor Jeronimo Ruben, who also serves as the President of National Authority for Electricity Public Institute, Timor-Leste, presented the history and content of the exchanges between the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology at the National University of Timor-Leste and our faculty since 2002. They also highlighted a number of successful achievements through the faculties' active interactions. President Yoshida expressed high expectations for the further development of research and educational exchanges and their contribution to the society of Timor-Leste in the future.

This courtesy visit is anticipated to enhance the exchanges between the faculties of engineering at both universities.
