On Wednesday, March 22, 2023, "AY 2022 Center for Collaborative Study with Community (CCSC) Symposium" was held under the theme, "Collaborative Study with Community." Approximately 50 people attended the symposium both in-person (at Gifu University Auditorium) and online.

In the first half of the symposium, the awarding ceremony was held for the graduates of the "Next-Generation Regional Leader Fostering Program." Thirty-one students who have completed the program AY 2022 were conferred the certificate of completion and the title of "student coordinator" from President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro of Gifu University. In addition, six students were conferred the special title of "Gifu Next-Generation Regional Leader" to honor their continued dedication to collaborative activities between GU and the community after their completion of the program.

In the latter half of the symposium, Associate Professor and Presidential Advisor, Dr. NISHIKAWA Kazuhiro from Kii-Plus of Wakayama University (Wakayama Prefecture) delivered a speech titled, "University for value co-creation with community; challenges of Kii-Plus." It was followed by the activity reports by five teams of students who have completed the "regional leader course" and "educational leader course" of the Next-Generation Regional Leader Fostering Program. Lastly, Mr. MORI Tomoya, a regional coordinator from the Industry Human Resources Division, Gifu Prefectural Government spoke about the prefectural government's commitment to developing regional leaders.

GU students were given an opportunity to listen to the activities of research institutes, local communities and businesses, and also had a chance to make presentations on their own activities. Completion of the program and attendance of the symposium helped GU students to broaden their perspectives on collaboration with the community.

Gifu University continues to engage in a wide-range of activities to contribute to the community under the strong initiatives of CCSC.
