"Let's become NEXCO Nakanihon Members" workshop opened

As part of the "Fostering Next-Generation Regional Leaders Programs" implemented by Gifu University, GU students (members of the Central Nippon Expressway Company Limited ("NEXCO1 Nakanihon" Team) who are studying a "regional leader course (advanced)" hosted a work-experience workshop for local elementary school students titled, "Let's become NEXCO Nakanihon Members! - at Tsunagari-noba (connection site), Puratto (informal visiting to) Park" at the Nagaragawa Service Area (SA) of the outbound Tōkai-Hokuriku Expressway on Sunday, March 12, 2023.

The workshop was jointly conducted by NEXCO Nakanihon. To bring successful conclusion to the workshop, GU students engaged in field works, exchanged opinions with NEXCO officials for about a year to seek social agendas and challenges to work on. GU students propose solutions to a wide-range of issues and carry out their initiatives to become a regional leader for the community. First, GU students hosted an event to familiarize "Puratto Park (situated at Nagaragawa SA at Shimouchi District, Seki City, Gifu Prefecture)" with local people to promote wider use of the Park accessible to Nagaragawa SA from outside the Expressway.

At the workshop, they invited ten sets of parents and children (from first to third grade elementary school students) and offered them a chance to work as a concierge, sales clerk and traffic control person. Children fully enjoyed their experiences and also developed their understanding about the work of NEXCO. GU Students successfully completed the workshop with the support of NEXCO members.

On March 24, GU students and academic staff visited the Nagoya Branch Office of NEXCO Nakanihon (Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture) and reported about the workshop and exchanged opinion with the NEXCO officials. Later, NEXCO staff handed out a letter of appreciation to every GU student.

Gifu University continues to work with NEXCO Nakanihon to develop young human resources and make strong regional contributions.
