On Thursday, January 26, 2023, "Second Follow-Up Training for Coordinators of School and Community Collaboration 2022" was conducted as part of a human resource development program offered by the Gifu Center for collaborative activities between communities and schools (GIFU CCCS).

GIFU CCCS was jointly established by Gifu Prefecture and Gifu University in order to support and promote school and community collaboration for sound growth of children and revitalization of the community. The following are the three specific purposes that are aimed by the center:

1. Develop and secure human resources (through collaboration with municipalities and social, education groups, the center provides training opportunities for coordinators of school and community collaboration, educate and secure student volunteers)

2. Conduct survey and research (through collaboration with municipalities and social, education groups, the center carries out survey and research programs to study actual cases of school and community collaboration, pioneering, exemplary cases found in education at home, and makes a presentation)

3. Promotion (the center provides continued support for municipal governments by hosting open lectures or letting its staff attend relevant workshops)

The participants of the follow-up training already completed four training sessions (held on June 30, September 1, October 6 and December 1, 2022), and are playing an active role in administration for social education, public facilities, schools and community in many parts of Gifu Prefecture, and they also joined two follow-up training sessions with their own agenda in mind.

The second follow-up training was conducted both on and offline between Ogunimachi Board of Education, Yamagata Prefecture, Gifu University Satellite Campus (main site, Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture) and participants staying at home. A total of 54 people attended.

Mr. SHIBUYA Yoji, (member of Ogunimachi Board of Education, Yamagata Prefecture, Coordinators of School and Community Collaboration, and Community School Director) gave a speech titled, "Community-building through education involving all citizens through school and community collaboration as a driving force: activities of Ogunimachi Community School." In a video linked group talk session, participants shared information, exchanged opinions, and asked questions to lecturers. They had a chance to speak directly to the lectures about their community, schools and their challenges. They later received feedback from the lecturers.

The second follow-up training is the last training in AY 2022, and we hope all the participants keep on playing their part in their respective communities, workplace, etc. by making the most of what they have learned from the training AY 2022.
