Winning of "Chubu University President Award" at The 12th Chubu University ESD/SDGSs Presentation

On Wednesday, October 13, 2021, G-amet, (Gifu University student environment circle) made a presentation at The 12th Chubu University ESD/SDGs Presentation hosted by Chubu University International ESD/SDGs Center. Their presentation titled, "Activities of G-amet: aiming to become a role model for student-driven environmental activities through collaboration between university's academic and administrative staff and local communities," won the "Chubu University President Award."

On Wednesday, November 17, 2021, five students of G-amet visited the Office of the President and reported their winning to the President Hisataka Moriwaki. The following are the names, years and faculties:

- Ms. Hinae Toyokawa, 2nd year student of the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences

- Ms. Nodoka Takagi, 1st year student of the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences

- Mr. Yoshiaki Katayama, 1st year student of the Faculty of Engineering

- Ms. Hinata Tanaka, 1st year student of the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences

- Mr. Shun Nakato, 4th year student of the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences

They introduced their activities by four different categories, namely, "waste management and resource recycling," "planting and landscaping," "protection of biodiversity" and "ESD/Environment Education." They expressed their strong hope for continued exchanges with other universities and conservation activities on campus.

President Moriwaki said, "I hear that members of G-amet are increasing even in this pandemic. I wish for a further expansion of your environmentally friendly activities in the days to come."

Gifu University continues to contribute to the creation of sustainable society by implementing a wide range of environment protection programs/projects.

*ESD/SDGs Presentation offers a venue to students to demonstrate their research activities for sustainable society. Its objectives are to make research activities of students and academic staff known to the public, promote interactions among people for the new level of conservation.
