Bomb Warning Email and University's Responses to the Threat

On Monday, August 10, 2020, Gifu University received a bomb warning email which wrote, "I am (we are) going to blow up Gifu University at 11 a.m. on August 19, 2020."

We have stepped up our campus security arrangements which include searching for any unidentified objects, spotting intruders/trespassers and frequent patrolling the university premises in collaboration with the police. As it turned out, however, no damages, loss, etc. from explosion(s) are reported even after the designated time passed.

To guarantee and secure the safety of students and staff, entry restrictions were imposed from 1:00p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2020 onward, but they are lifted as of 12:00p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2020.

With regard to entry regulations to campus, please follow the Gifu University Guideline for COVID-19.

We will continue to remain vigilant and take every necessary step for the safety of the members of Gifu University in cooperation with the police.
