Gifu University Commencement Ceremony AY 2019

On March 25, 2020, Gifu University Commencement Ceremony AY 2019 was held at the university auditorium. Due to the widely spreading new coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the venue of celebration was changed from Nagara Convention Center (Gifu City) to the university auditorium on campus. Only a select few students who represent their respective faculties and graduate schools received diplomas on behalf of graduation students. To send the president's congratulations and appreciation to the faculty members and guardians, the video of the ceremony was live-streamed in real time on YouTube.

To the graduating 1,288 undergraduate students and 592 graduate students, President of Gifu University Hisataka Moriwaki gave the following message, "With the wisdom you have gained at Gifu University, I encourage you to maintain lofty goals and a pioneering spirit as you begin to make contributions to society, the international community, and humankind at large."

On behalf of the graduating students, Ms. Mayuka Nakamura from the Nursing Course, the School of Medicine said, "We all know that the knowledge we have obtained, experiences and encounters we had on campus, will form the very basics of our nursing profession, and it will continue to guide us for the rest of our lives."

At the ceremony, President Moriwaki also honored 16 students for their excellent academic achievements, one student for the outstanding research work which is highly praised in the academic community.
