"Give it a try in India!" seminar hosted by GU-GLOCAL

On January 31, 2020, International Collaborative Education Promotion Division, Gifu University Organization for Promotion of Glocalization (GU-GLOCAL) hosted a seminar, "Give it a try in India: work overseas and work with other countries."

Under the title, "Learn from India, a nation with great diversity: how to spark innovations and build human resources partnership," Ms. Naho Shigeta, CEO, INFOBRIDGE Marketing & Promotions Co., Ltd. who was invited as a keynote speaker, spoke about the following: differences between people of Japan and India, comparison with economic growth in China, government policies and the ground for innovations in India before approximately 50 students and staffers of the university. She also underscored attractions and incentives for working with India, and importance of working abroad in early life.

In the Q and A session, in the form of answering the questions from the audience, Ms. Shigeta mentioned the administrative systems in India, advantages and the place of Japan in the world, and benefits of being Japanese working in global market. Her remarks were full of real-time information and data of the world, as well as her own experiences overseas. At the end of the seminar, Dr. Fumiaki Suzuki, Executive Director for International Affairs and Public Relations gave closing remarks, and presented Ms. Shigeta a bottle of new Gifu University sake brand called, "Tabouno-haru Gizan" as an expression of his gratitude.

After the seminar, Ms. Shigeta was surrounded and asked by a number of students who have a strong interest in internship programs overseas for some time. The seminar resulted in our reaffirming of student' hopes and ambitions for "work overseas and work with other countries."

The International Collaborative Education Promotion Division will continue to hold seminars with an aim to successful implementation of four Joint Degree (JD) Master's and Doctoral programs with Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) and the National University of Malaysia (UKM).
