The themes of the competition 2019 was creating a new souvenir utilizing Gujo local delicacies such as water, sweet fish, radish, miso bean paste and hams, etc. Forty-six teams from vocational schools, junior colleges and universities in Aichi, Mie and Gifu prefectures attended the competition.

In the final screening on November 30, 2019, students from 14 teams (passers of the first screening), made presentations. Gifu University team, "Team Bito" also challenged the final screening and won an award for originality, novelty and well-balanced combination of ideas. They proposed a sweet named, "Snow of Sekisui: Gujo-micho," a mix of Gujo miso paste and ganache.

GU students worked very hard to produce this new sweet with the following concepts in mind, "Introduce distinctive aspects of Gujo and high topicality," "Photogenic for its elegant look," and "Appeal to foreign tourists and the world."

Through their participation, students also realized that there is a huge gap between planning and its materialization.
