Eighth Press Conference by President AY 2019

Gifu University held the eighth press conference by president AY 2019 on November 7.

First, President Hisataka Moriwaki spoke about the activities of Gifu Renewable Energy System Research Center (belongs to the Organization for Research and Community Development) and its role in "Gifu University Future Vision Toward 2025." Professor Yoshinori Itaya, Director of the Center later introduced the center's research activities and the status of facility improvement efforts, etc.

Gifu Renewable Energy System Research Center was established in 2018, and is performing R&D for technologies to "create," "store," "transport" and "use" CO2-emission free energy from renewable energy (solar and winds, etc.). Aiming to become independent in energy-supply with a goal of building "Local Production for Local Consumption Energy Systems," the center pursues to create the most effective energy use system by taking regional features and characteristics into account.

On November 12, an opening ceremony was held for the renewable energy management system, and test equipment which was newly installed at the center, was open to the participants. In the ceremony, explanations on the center's activities using special equipment (introduced first among national universities in Japan), were given, and people expressed strong expectations for the facility's continued development for the future.

Gifu Renewable Energy System Research Center strives to carry out wide-ranging experiments and examinations to build the new energy systems, and put them into practical use for the benefits of people and society.
