Guangxi University & Gifu University: Agriculture and Science Symposium
Guangxi University & Gifu University Agriculture and Science Symposium was held at the College of Agriculture, Guangxi University, China on October 21, 2019. A total of 11 Gifu University delegates attended the symposium (five academic staff from the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences, and the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology: Professor Hiroyuki Koyama, Professor Shuichi Matsumura, Professor Tomio Yabe, Associate Professor Masafumi Shimizu and Assistant Professor Takashi Tanaka). The rest were five undergraduate and Master's degree students plus one administrative staff.
The major events in the symposium were: research presentations by 11 professors from the two universities, students' poster session and Gifu University study-abroad fair.
After the symposium, Gifu University delegation participated in the GU alumni meeting where they mingled with Guangxi University students who studied at Gifu University.
On October 22, the delegates were invited to visit laboratories, hold talks with administrative staff, and take part in a research facility tour near Guangxi University. All the events were very informative for GU delegates to deepen the knowledge of their fields of research, and renew their friendship with Guangxi University students.
We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all who had supported our delegation's visit to Guangxi University, and we stay committed to facilitate educational and research exchanges including further enhancement of the Double Degree programs* between the two universities.
*Double Degree programs: two Master's degrees are conferred to a student after completing the courses at both Guangxi University and Gifu University (started from 2012).
