The Council of Head of National Medical Schools of Japan Standing Committee and the Association of Japan Medical College hosted the 20th National and Private University's Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry Administrative Staff Training for three days from May 24 to 26, 2019. Gifu University Graduate School of Medicine and School of Medicine, and Medical Education Development Center (MEDC) supported the operation of this staff training.

The major purposes of this training are: to deepen the participants' understanding about the current state of medical and dental education, to enhance the quality of administrative personnel at school of medicine or dentistry, and to facilitate smooth operation of administrative work at national and private universities. A total of 43 people attended the training held on the satellite campus and Yanagido Campus of Gifu University (Gifu City). Participants came to Gifu from the schools of medicine or dentistry across the country.

A wide range of programs were offered to the participants. They included four lectures and two small group discussions by topics. The 72nd Medical Education Seminar & Workshop was also conducted concurrently with the training. The following are the names of the keynote speakers and their speech titles:

- (on May 25) Professor Yasuyuki Suzuki, MEDC,; "International Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Education: What we can see from the analyses of reviewing reports by medical field"

- Dr. Fumiko Okazaki, The Jikei University School of Medicine, "Post - CC OSCE Status and Challenges: Clinical Clerkship"

- (on May 26) Mr. Takahiko Murase, Umemura Educational Institutions: "Challenges Ahead for University Staff: Special focus on expertise of administrative staff"

In the subsequent training program, the participants enjoyed active opinion exchange and discussions. Everyone learned a lot by attending multiple activities and deepened friendship with each other during this three-day training.
