This orientation was for students planning to study or travel abroad in the near future. With Professor Mutsuhiro Shima, Head of the Study Abroad Promotion Division, GU-GLOCAL as a moderator, the orientation started with a speech given by Dr. Fumiaki Suzuki, GU-GLOCAL Director (Vice President, Executive Director for International Affairs and Public Relations).

At the outset, Mr. Makoto Hattori from the Japanese Council for the Safety of Overseas Students (JCSOS) gave a speech about crisis awareness, how to avoid risks and protect themselves. His speech was followed by a lecture from Dr. Mayumi Yamamoto, Director/Professor of the Health Administration Center (HAC) concerning the medical systems and the importance of health management while abroad. Lastly, the university staff explained about the operations of emergency and risk management support desk and traveler's insurance.
