The Council of Head of National Medical Schools of Japan Standing Committee and the National Associate of Japan Medical Colleges Council hosted the 19th National and Private University's Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry Administrative Staff Training for three days from June 1 to 3, 2018. Gifu University Graduate School of Medicine and School of Medicine, and Medical Education Development Center (MEDC, Gifu University) supported the opening of the 19th Administrative Staff Training.

The major purposes of this training are: to deepen the participants' understanding about the current state of education on medicine and dentistry, to enhance the quality of administrative personnel at school of medicine and faculty of dentistry, and to facilitate smooth operation of administrative work at national and private universities. A total of 46 people attended the training held at Gifu University satellite campus and the university's main buildings (Yanagido Campus, Gifu City). They came to Gifu from the schools of medicine and faculties of dentistry across Japan.

A wide range of programs were offered to the participants. They included three lectures, two group debates by topics, and the 68th Medical Education Seminar & Workshop which was concurrently conducted with the training. On the second day of the training, a guest speaker, Professor Osamu Fukushima from the Jikei University School of Medicine, gave a lecture titled, "Medical Education Accreditation," and on the third day, Mr. Takahiko Murase from Takagi Gakuen School delivered a speech, "Professionality and Cultivation of Human Resources for Administrative Work." In the subsequent group debates and workshops, the participants enjoyed lively opinion exchange and discussions.

Everyone learned a lot by attending multiple activities and deepened friendship with each other during this three-day training.
