Cooperation Agreement between Gifu University and Shirakawa Village

Gifu University and Shirakawa Village signed a Cooperation Agreement between Gifu University and Shirakawa Village on January 22, 2018.
The purpose of the agreement are as follows:
・Build a comprehensive, close partnership in diverse fields
・Deepen the partnership in a sustainable and expansive fashion
・By doing the two above, contribute to the establishment and growth of a lively community and to the development of human resources for the future.
By the latest signing between Gifu University and Shirakawa Village, Gifu University now has cooperation agreement with 23 municipal governments.

At the signing ceremony, Mr. Shigeru Narihara, Mayor of Shirakawa Village commented, "Shirakawa Village is faced with many tough challenges ahead such as heavy reliance on the World Heritage Site for tourism, stagnant consumption by tourists, fewer business establishment and little progress in people's settlement in the village. Through collaboration with Gifu University, we would like to create a new culture by closely working with the university students together."
President Hisataka Moriwaki made the following reply; "I am so grateful to see that Gifu University Fair in Takayama has successfully resulted in the agreement signing of this time. We would like to learn a lot about the initiatives of Shirakawago-gakuen School (integrated elementary and junior high school) and regional revitalization activities focusing on tourism."

Gifu University and Shirakawa Village continue to hold talks over the human resource development of Shirakawago-gakuen School and other joint activities in the future.
