Exhibition and Test-Driving of Fuel-Cell-Powered Passenger Cars are held

Exhibition and Test-Driving of Fuel-Cell-Powered Passenger Cars (Toyota's "Mirai" and Honda's "Clarity", both are hydrogen-powered) were held on June 6, 2017 through cooperation from TOHO Gas Co., Ltd. Gifu Branch.
The Faculty of Engineering of Gifu University is putting a great emphasis on energy research and education, and exhibition and test-driving of fuel-cell-powered cars were realized in an effort to advance technology development of the faculty.
First, brief explanations about the cars were given from TOHO Gas officials to the spectators, and some university students were invited to join a test-driving within campus.
Those who experienced the test-driving said, "It was a very quiet driving, and I was very impressed that the car smoothly sped up."
President Hisataka Moriwaki who was also in attendance commented; "We may have a lot of opportunities to see this high-tech, environmentally-friendly cars these days, but fewer have a chance to drive. Thanks to the cooperation of TOHO Gas, some students fully enjoyed test-driving today."
With this event as a momentum, energy research activities at Gifu University are expected to produce many tangible results in the foreseeable future.
