On August 27, 2016, an "Open Lecture 2016: the Forefront of Cancer Medication" was held under Tokai Training Program of Oncology Specialist^*.

The lecture opened at Gifu University Satellite Campus, and around 90 people attended to listen to the latest medical therapies for colon and rectum cancer, multiple myeloma, breast cancer and lung cancer. After the lecture, many participants said, "It was a great opportunity for me to listen to the forefront of cancer medication from the experts firsthand."

Gifu University has been a member of Training Program of Oncology Specialist of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) since 2008. The program aims to cultivate medical staff with professional expertise in cancer treatment including surgeries, radiation treatment and chemotherapy.
