The 8th PUSH Project in 2016 ~Push Hard (Chest Compressions) Push The AED Button Campaign~

"The PUSH Project" is a promotional campaign of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). CPR practice sessions open to public at 44 venues across Japan on August 10 every year.
August 10 is called a "healthy heart day" in Japan because a combination of the number of 8 and 10 can be pronounced "ha-to (heart)" in Japanese.
Participants of these sessions undergo a brief yet intensive CPR "PUSH Course."

In Gifu, the "PUSH Course" opened at the Event Corner on the First Floor of the Gifu University Hospital on August 8, 2016. About 50 people including many elementary school students learned how to press the breast bone and use automatic external defibrillator (AED) by using a lifesaving drill kit called "Schooman."

Anyone may suffer from sudden cardiac arrest anywhere anytime. Gifu University Hospital will continue to hold the similar CPR practice sessions at schools, cities and towns and we expect more people to join these sessions in the future.
