On January 13, 2016, Dr. Ferenc Vonderviszt from University of Pannonia, Hungary visited the Faculty of Engineering. The University of Pannonia is one of Gifu University's partner universities overseas since 2001.

Three students of the Faculty of Engineering studied at the University of Pannonia for three weeks in September 2015 as part of a short-term study abroad program. Dr. Ferenc Vonderviszt supervised one of the students. He reunited with three students and discussed further promotion of a partnership between the University of Pannonia and Gifu University with Dr. Mutsuhiro Shima of the Faculty of Engineering and other administrative staff.

In a luncheon meeting, Dr. Ferenc Vonderviszt, Dr. Shima and the students renewed their friendship and actively talked about future exchange between the two institutions.
