Laboratory Tour

On Friday, September 5, Gifu University held a laboratory tour for concerned parties of manufacturing companies and financial institutions in the Gifu region. The purpose of this tour is to enhance the collaboration between industry and Gifu University by showing what kind of research the University has been working on.

This is a co-hosted laboratory tour by Gifu University Head Office for Industry-Government-Academia Collaboration and Gifu University Association for Community Activities and Collaboration. It is held a few times a year for corporate engineers who are the members of Gifu University Association for Community Activities and Collaboration and the staff members of financial institutions in the Gifu region. This time, the Center for Advanced Die Engineering and Technology was introduced, and roughly 40 people joined the tour.
First, a lecture about joint research with a manufacturing company on die engineering and the technologies used for molding and injection was given. After participants deepened understanding of the research through the lecture, they went on to a laboratory tour. On this laboratory tour, participants saw high level of technologies in the process of design, forming and analysis through the demonstration of mold injection and an impact test in the center, and that received much attention from the participants.
Gifu University is not only working on basic study but also practical research that the result can be returned to industry. Participants who learned about the research conducted at Gifu University through the laboratory tour expressed their hope of joining another laboratory tour. It was an important opportunity to reaffirm that a laboratory tour is necessary to enhance the relationship with companies in the region.
