The Graduate School of Education, Gifu University and the National Institute for School Teachers and Staff Development signs Cooperation Agreement

The Teacher Education Course of the Graduate School of Education, Gifu University concluded a Cooperation Agreement with the National Institute for School Teachers and Staff Development (NITS)on June 26, 2017.
The signing ceremony was held at Kazan Kaikan Hall (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo). Professor Naotake Iketani, Dean of the Graduate School of Education and Mr. Shinya Takaoka, President of NITS signed an agreement. The ceremony was joined by the people from both institutions. In addition, Mr. Kouji Yanagisawa and Mr. Daichi Yamaguchi from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) attended the ceremony as observers.

The agreement aims to promote partnership and cooperation of both institutions to address various issues and challenges ahead with regards to teachers' training. Under this goal, the two institutions will work closely for a shared use of the Technical Education Course curriculum of the Graduate School of Education, Gifu University, and training programs of NITS. They also pledge to develop and support implementation of training programs for improvements of teachers' quality. With conclusion of the agreement, it is hoped that the two institutions will forge strong ties with one another in developing training programs and cultivating highly-skilled teachers within Gifu Prefecture.
