Professor Emeritus Hirotoshi Iwata of Gifu University is given a Letter of Appreciation from the Governor of Gifu Prefecture

On February 13, 2017, Professor Emeritus Hirotoshi Iwata of Gifu University (specialty: hygienics, the School of Medicine), was given a Letter of Appreciation from the Governor of Gifu Prefecture.

Dr. Iwata made huge contributions to advance the health service as a chairman of Gifu Medical Care Deliberation Council for 24 years. The Letter of Appreciation was given to him in honor of his outstanding achievements and constant devotion to medicine.

On February 14, Dr. Iwata paid a courtesy call on President Hisataka Moriwaki of Gifu University. In the Office of President, Dr. Iwata and President Moriwaki talked about the days when Dr. Iwata was teaching hygienics at the School of Medicine of Gifu University. Around that time, President Moriwaki was also working hard in teaching, researching and clinical practicing at the School of Medicine. The two enjoyed lively conversations for some time while recalling the days gone by.
