The 7th Kids Summer School opens

On August 22 and 23, 2016, the Gifu University Hospital opened "The 7th Kids Summer School," and about 50 children of the University staff enjoyed the program for two days.

"Kids Summer School" is an after-school care program for children and is organized by the Center for Regional Medicine and the Female Doctor Job Assistance Association of Gifu University every year. It aims to help children to learn about their parents' work at the hospital and assist the work of the staff during the summer vacation.

The 7th Kids Summer School program included the followings: trial use of medical appliances used at surgical operations, pathology assessment by using the latest virtual equipment, observation of x-ray apparatus such as CT and MRI and trail use of catheters and endoscopes.

One of the children who took part in the school said, "Operation of medical appliances was quite difficult for me. My dad work looks really challenging." Eighteen medical students of Gifu University who volunteered to help children enjoyed conversations with them, but realized how difficult it was to deal with children.
