Opening Ceremony for the Gifu University Center for Conservation of Microbial Genetic Resource, Organization for Research and Community Development

Gifu University reorganized the Graduate School of Medicine's Pathogenic Microorganism Genetic Stock Center Office, which handled stock preservation and distribution of microorganisms. On April 1, 2016, it was reestablished as the Gifu University Center for Conservation of Microbial Genetic Resource, Organization for Research and Community Development (GCMR) as a stock center for microorganism cultures on the 7th floor of the School of Medicine main building. The opening ceremony of the GCMR was held on April 6.

GCMR will work to preserve microbial genetic resources and provide microorganism cultures and related genetic information for future research and development projects. It also plans to develop globally attractive projects for the conservation of phyletic groups by promoting the further use of microorganism genetic information for research and industrial application that can meet the needs of today's globalized society.
