A ceremony to present notification of scholarship for Gifu University students with excellent academic performance was held on April 8, 2016.

Gifu University established the Gifu University Fund as a key feature of its 60th anniversary. As part of the Fund-financed activities, Gifu University awards a scholarship to model students with hard-working, excellent academic performance with a view to supporting their academic achievement and fostering excellent students. Gifu University awards the scholarship to model students who are academically diligent and possess good character.

At the ceremony, President Hisataka Moriwaki presented the notification to each student and commented during his speech, "It is my sincere hope this scholarship will help you to study even harder and make the most of your time at university."

On behalf of the students, Ms. Suo Ta Ji, an international student from China studying at the Graduate School of Regional Studies expressed her hopes, "I will remember that this scholarship is funded by contributions from in-service teaching and administrative staff, alumni of Gifu University and the general public. I will make full use of the scholarship as I devote myself to my studies".

A total of 25 students were awarded with the scholarship as students with excellent academic performance in 2016.
