Environmental Partnership Program "Seed to Seed Eco-Continuity Project"Morning Glory Seeds Given Out

Gifu University concluded partnership agreements for environmental conservation with Juroku Bank, Ltd and FC Gifu respectively (Juroku Bank in 2012, FC Gifu in 2015). Under these agreements, "Seed to Seed Eco-Continuity Project" first initiated by Juroku Bank was jointly conducted by Gifu University, Juroku Bank and FC Gifu on June 28, 2015. This project aims to raise awareness of ecological conservation issues and to promote greening activities in the community.

Nine students from a greening activity group called "Three Trees" and a cheerleading squad called "Stars" volunteered to give out 5,000 sets of morning glory seeds and environmentally-friendly paper towels to visitors to Nagaragawa Stadium, who came to watch the FC Gifu soccer game hosted by Juroku Bank. The students and the staff of Juroku Bank handed out the seeds to the visitors and asked them to plant them. After being planted and grown by the recipient households, the harvested morning glory seeds are to be given back to Juroku Bank and distributed the following year.

Gifu University remains committed to promoting further activities for environmental conservation with the cooperation of Juroku Bank and FC Gifu.
