Clean Campus Campaign in Spring 2015

Gifu University carries out campus-wide clean campus campaigns twice a year in spring and autumn.
On Wednesday, May 27, students and the university staff took part in "Clean Campus Campaign in Spring 2015". These cleanup activities take place across the country around May 30 (5.30) because this number can be also read "gomi zero" in Japanese meaning no garbage.
A total of 721 students and the university staff joined the campaign despite sweltering heat on that day.

In the clean campus campaigns, participants pick up trash at riverbanks and the roads close to the campus as a part of community cleanup activities. About 30 students and the staff from each faculty walked along Shinboriwa River (approx. 2km long) and picked up cans, bottles and plastic bags, etc. for about an hour. They also worked together to eradicate the non-native plant, Coreopsis Lanceolata.
