President Hisataka Moriwaki and the delegate members of Gifu University made an official visit to Guangxi University, and Gifu University Shanghai Office in China from March 9^th to 10^th, 2015. Guangxi University and Gifu University concluded an agreement on student and faculty exchanges on April 24^th, 1986. President Moriwaki was accompanied by Dr. Fumiaki Suzuki, Executive Director, Mr. Masaki Yokoyama, Executive Director, Dr. Hiroyuki Koyama, Advisor to the President, Dr. Hirokazu Fukui, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences, Dr. Masateru Senge, Dean of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Science (UGSAS), Mr. Haruya Kato, Overseas Partnership Coordinator of UGSAS, Mr. Minoru Takeshita, Director of the International Planning Division, Ms. Satoko Yoshida, Chief of UGSAS, and Dr. Yu Ping of Gifu University Shanghai Office.

On March 9^th, at the beginning of the meeting with Professor Liang Ying, Chairman of University Council, President Moriwaki expressed his deep appreciation to Guangxi University's participation in the International Consortium of Universities in South and Southeast Asia for the Doctoral Education in Agricultural Science and Biotechnology (IC-GU12) from the year 2013. This IC-GU12 was initially proposed by Guangxi University with a view to providing quality education for the students studying at agricultural doctoral course. Later, the delegation exchanged opinions with the senior officials of Guangxi University about a number of unique, innovative programs and activities implemented at each institution. They also discussed and agreed with opening of university offices to accelerate lively exchanges among graduate students and the teaching staff.

After the meeting, the delegation members were invited to inspect some university facilities and were briefed by the staff about multiple, ongoing pioneering projects at each facility.

On March 10^th, the delegation visited Gifu University Shanghai Office and was explained by Dr. Yu Ping about the history and activities of Shanghai Office. They also discussed the possibilities of diverse personnel exchanges between Japan and China.

It is hoped that the latest delegation's visit to Guangxi University could reinforce Gifu University's ties with China and the Chinese people in the future.
